Your Friendly Hise Hikers Tuesday Tip: Mix It Up To Challenge Yourself.
While at the beach this past weekend, we chose to hike. On Saturday, we hiked 5 miles. On Sunday, we hiked 10 miles. Barefoot. In the sand.
We traversed over craggy and sometimes sharp rocks.
We traversed over different packed sand (some really loose… some really packed, etc.).
I share all of this because this terrain is the complete opposite of what we’re used to hiking on in the mountains around where we live.
And what’s awesome about that is that while our feet are sore and our calves are sore and our glutes are sore… it helped us to build new muscle memory for strength in our regular hiking activities.
