Wednesday Wisdom: Allow Yourself Joy.
Sometimes it is the little things. I’ve been hearing from others that all of the things are weighing heavily right now.
Here are some ways I allow myself joy…
A text or message exchange with a friend. Bonus if it includes Tik Tok videos or silly GIFs.
☕A cup of herbal tea and a moment to myself.
A moment to apply a couple of essential oils and say a prayer.
Dancing along with one of the routines from a YouTube channel I follow.
Scroll through the contacts on my phone or in messenger, and randomly choose someone to send a message of support to.
Chat up the person making the sandwich I picked up today for lunch.
Grab my gratitude journal and jot down 3-5 things I’m grateful for in that moment.
None of these are particularly challenging or time-consuming… they do require focused effort to make them happen. And, as a result, I have been finding moments to allow, enjoy, and embrace the joy.
